Newbridge began as Vesta Designs — a Melbourne residential design studio founded more than a decade ago. Houses, commercial premises, dual-occupancies, multi-unit developments and complex town-planning projects. Over two thousand homes drawn for Victorian builders left our boards, alongside the commercial and planning work that taught us how every regulation, every council overlay, every code clause actually behaves on a real site.
We watched what happened to those drawings on site. Some builders honoured the design. Many didn't. Detailing was simplified, specifications swapped, code compliance treated as a hurdle to clear rather than a standard to meet. Beautiful, code-correct plans became ordinary buildings.
Newbridge Homes is the same studio, building for itself: build to last, true to code, true to aspirations.
Drawings are easy. Building them right is hard.
A decade of watching our designs leave the studio meant a decade of watching every shortcut a builder can take. We catalogued them. Now we build the opposite.
